Description

Etchings, end on the XVIII century, signed on lower right.

Beautiful works, printed on contemporary laid paper with partial unidentified watermark, with full margins, in excellent condition.

Nicolle was a landscape painter and an expert in ancient ruins; he lived in Rome between 1787 an 1789 and again between 1806 and 1811. More than 150 watercolours of the main sites of the city have been catalogued. He also realized engravings with the same subjects.

Firma a destra poco leggibile".

Very rare.
