A young couple is having their future told by a cartomancer, after Freudenberger; the scene is set in a rustic interior; the cartomancer, an old peasant woman, sits at a table and examines a hand of cards; facing her are a young woman and her lover, who stands by her side; to the right is a straw bed; published in 'L'Art', volume 17, 1879.
Etching, 1879, lettered with production detail: 'S. Freudenberger pinx. - P. Le Rat sculp.' and 'Imp. E. Delarue Paris', title, provenance: '(Collections du Palais de San Donato)' and 'L'Art'.
A good impression on contemporary laid paper, with margins, very good condition.
