Plate taken from the Repraesentatio Belli, ob successionem in Regno Hispanico. Augsburg: [c. 1720].
Highly decorative series celebrating the victories of Austria, some of the German states, Great Britain, Holland, Denmark and Portugal, in the War of the Spanish Succession, 1700-1713, which ended with the Treaties of Utrecht and Rastatt. Most of the plates include a central section with a representation of a particular event, this central section is surrounded by a wide rococo border incorporating a panel with explanatory text in German, and a small panel containing a map or plan of the area in which the event in the main panel took place after Paul Decker the Elder (1677-1713), Georg Philip Rugendas and others.
Copperplate, printed on contemporary laid paper, with margins, very good condition.
