Description

The map belongs to the monumental work of Pompeo Litta "Famigli Celebri Italiane", issued in different instalments between 1819 and 1900.

The Tavole Genealogiche (Genealogical plates) della Reale Casa di Savoia, illustrated by Pompeo Litta with monuments, the part dedicated to the Savoy and it has been realized between 1839 and 1845, can be considered the most valuable part, due to the richness of the plates and the quality of their colour.

The most important part of the Savoy volume are the 29 maps depicting the territories of their duchy, enriched by the coat-of arms, coloured and raised on silver and gold; the first two maps give a global vision of the Savoy estate; the following ones depict the borders of every duchy and county, outlining them with different colours.

Outline etching, fine contemporary hand colour, in excellent condition.
