Description

Daniel de la Feuille, a Frenchman from Sedan, settled in Amsterdam about 1683 and built up a business there as an engraver, art dealer and book and map publisher.

A beautiful and unkommon map taken from "Oorlogs tablessen, Oft uytgesochte Kaarten", published in Amsterdam at the end of 17th century.

Copper engraving with fine original colour, in very good condition.

Daniel De La Feuille (Sedan 1640 - Amsterdam 1709)

French engraver and publisher, he settled in Amsterdam in 1683 to escape from religeous persecution; there, he settled as engraver, trader of pieces of art, watches maker and books and maps publisher. He was member of the corporation of book sellers of Amsterdam.
