Panorama of Rome taken from the Via Flaminia, immediately after the Milvio Bridge. On the left is the consular road leading to the Porta del Popolo, the northern entrance to the city. This panorama, of the English school, dates to the mid-18th century. It derives from an earlier model by Giovan Battista Falda, from 1683. It is likely an illustration for an English guidebook from the Grand Tour period. The lack of editorial references prevents further comment.
Etching, in good condition.
