Description

Beautiful panorama of "Rome à vol d'oiseau" (Bird's-Eye View of Rome), drawn by Emile Théodore Therond, published in "Le Journal Illustré" around 1860.

The panoramic view was taken from the Janiculum Hill and shows a detailed view of the city shortly before the significant urban transformations that followed the unification of Italy.

Finely hand-colored woodcut, in excellent condition.
