Copperplate, original colour, some paper discoloration and very light surface dirt but otherwise a very good example on strong paper

Joseph RIEDL Edler von Leuenstern (Vienna 1786 - 1856)

Geographer, mathematician, publisher of maps ans atlases and globmaker in Wien. Successor to Wienere Kunst-und Industrie-Comptoir. Riedl worked with the publisher Joseph Schreyvogel in Wien, specialising in maps and atlases. He succeeded Schreyvogel in 1814. Riedl also made globes for Franz Lepold Schoninger and his sons.
