River landscape

Etching, circa 1635/50, signed and inscribed on the plate at the bottom "PGI" and "Angelo Donnini F."

This extremely rare work, undescribed and not present in any major museum collection, likely derives from a landscape by the Girolamo Saracini, as indicated by the monogram matching the engraving signed by Saracini in 1635. We have found no information about this Angelo Donnini.

The landscape is engraved in the style of Remigio Cantagallina.

A good example, printed on contemporary laid paper, trimmed to the borderline, in good condition.
