Emeric de Tamagnon was a famous French landscape painter; his views of the Savoy and Ligurian Rivieras, drawn as early as 1845, are well known and particularly appreciated. In fact, as Carlo Alberto Vecchi writes in the Museo Scientifico, Letterario ed Artistico (Year Seven, Turin 1845, p. 286), "it is with great satisfaction that we have seen more than two thousand drawings taken from life by the skilled landscape painter A. Emeric de Tamagnon, among others. Emeric de Tamagnon, among which we have a hundred that reproduce in its beauty the beautiful coast of Genoa, from Nice to the Gulf of La Spezia. His drawings were translated into print upon his return to Paris.

Plate finely colored by hand. Rare.
