Etching, 1785, first published 'A Rome chez George Hackert Graveur Place d'Espagne', title, and dedication to Prince Yusupov. Published in 1785 as a pair with the 'Vue de l'Eglise de St Jean Lateran ... à Rome'. Reviewed in the 'Giornale delle belle arti' August 1785, no.33, p.264.

François Morel or Francesco Morelli (ca. 1768 – ca. 1840) was a French-Italian painter and engraver. He was active in Naples and known as a painter or engraver of Pompeian subjects. He was born in the Franche-Comté, and then traveled to Rome, where was a pupil of Francesco Volpato. He completed a series of engravings depicting the so-called Villa of Horace in Licenza with Hackert and Luigi Sabatelli.

A fine impression on contemporay wove paper, with full margins, good condition. Rare.
