Moritz Erdmann was a German painter of the Munich School. Erdmann attended the Berlin Art Academy and became a student of the marine and landscape painter Hermann Eschke. Following his studies, Erdmann went on study trips to Thuringia, the Harz Mountains, Schleswig, Holland, Sweden and spent a year in Italy. Later he lived in Pasing near Munich, where he died in 1919.

His landscapes are characterized by poetic, somewhat melancholy conception and deep, strong coloring.

Erdmann is known for his Verein für Original-Radierung in München. Erster Jahrgang (Munich, Verein für Original-Radierung) 1892; containing 12 etchings printed on thick laid paper, each blindstamped with the mark of the Munich Verein of various sizes and subjects, including landscape, animal and figure subjects, and a titlepage vignette by Maximilian Dasio showing a winged nude woman seated by a tree with an instrument, in a roundel.
