Mercury standing holding his winged staff with a double snake, after Polidoro da Caravaggio and after the engraving by Hendrick Goltzius.

Engraving, 1613, lettered with title above then two lines in bottom margin 'Polidorus de Caravaggio Pinxit Romae in Monte Quirinali. / Antonius Carenzanus Formis Romae 1613'. Numbered 4.

From the series of Divinity mythological after frescoes by Polidoro da Caravaggio, published in Rome by Antonio Carenzano.


The series of eight subjects, is dedicated by the publisher to the Marquis Ippolito della Rovere and is not described by Bartsch.

A fine impression, printed on contemporary laid paper, trimmed to the platemark, in good condition.
