Virgin nursing the Christ Child in a Landscape

Magnificent proof, rich tone, printed on contemporary laid paper, trimmed to the copperplate, in excellent condition.

The subject is already played by Francesco Brizio in 1595, and the theme there are several preparatory drawings, none of which seems to be the original of the Carracci.

This work is in the same direction with respect to the preparatory drawing and therefore may have been made by looking at the release of Brizio. Not described in the repertories.
