Description

Historical-geographical map of the course of the river Danube with all its tributaries and the kingdoms, provinces and cities crossed.

Etching, on three sheets, with original outline colour.

Three ornamental cartouches. Above all there is a cartouche with the inscription: "Illustrissimo domino domino Florio Bernardo veneto philosopho, & physician hac tempestate ubique celeberrimo domino meo humaniss.O Humill, Ac observ. Antonius Bosius D.D.D".

At the end of the 16th century, he explored throughout the Roman catacombs. He executed some remarkable engravings on this subject, and published the collection in a book. Bosio was also a priest.
